Nicole Dodd

Nicole Dodd came late to the life of formal dance, but has since more than made up for lost time!

She began dancing professionally with Loch Dhu Dancers at the age of 18 before moving back to her hometown of London, UK, to pursue a BA in acting, dance and singing. After a number of years working as an Actor, both in Europe and in the US, she decided to retire and moved laterally into a career in Dance.

For two years she studied, taught and competed for Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Houston, earning ‘Top Teacher’ as well as placing in Regional and National competitions. At which point adventure once again called and she moved to Kenya for a year where she directed and choreographed a number of shows, performed for various functions and competed in and won the National Salsa Championships. This title led to being sponsored to compete at the IDO World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.

Since returning to the US in  2010, Nicole met and married her husband, introduced, of course, through dance, with a revival show of the Loch Dhu Dancers, and has gone on to teach and perform at a number of venues across the city of Houston. She now lives in Spring with her husband, two daughters and their dog, Pippin.

She is very excited to share with you the joy of Period dancing with explorations of English country and court dances pulled from Shakespearean times.
